Bayside Camp is looking for passionate individuals to join the year round team in the areas of Administration and Facilities
Part-time and full-time permanent positions available as early as September 2019
Bayside Camp is a not-for-profit summer camp and year round retreat centre located less than 30 minutes south of Halifax , Nova Scotia. Encouraging first steps in a life-long journey with Jesus; next steps that follow him obediently; and, servant leadership exemplifying his compassion and concern for others, Bayside will strive to produce inviting environments for guests to grow in their faith by offering camps, retreats, and conferences for all ages.
All roles incorporate the following responsibilities for the Overall Ministry:
Ensure the vision and values of Bayside are upheld to the highest standard of excellence.
Develop, implement and improve best practices and systems for ministry and operations.
Actively engage in the spiritual discipleship of campers, guests, staff and volunteers
Strive to develop and improve experiences for campers and guests in all ways.
Coordinate spending to demonstrate work flow planning and stewardship of financial and material resources
Manage physical resources, budget and time in order to steward the ministry to its greatest potential
Manage and coach staff and volunteers to realize their greatest potential
Assist in other areas of Bayside’s ministry context as needed.
All roles incorporate the following requirements:
A personal profession of faith in Jesus for salvation and witness of obediently following Him
Member or regular participant in an evangelical church community
Ability to support, mentor and teach according to Bayside’s Statement of Faith
Agreement with the vision and values of Bayside
College/University degree or equivalent experience
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of office equipment and software
No less than 3 years of proven management experience
Demonstrated ability to manage staff ranging in size from 2 to 10
Demonstrated ability to maintain healthy working relationships with year round staff team
Demonstrated ability to develop, manage and maintain a budget
Demonstrated ability to organize and plan well
Demonstrated ability to initiate and follow through on projects with excellence
Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential situations with respect
Demonstrated ability to maintain healthy working relationships with a team
Demonstrated ability to support other team members to achieve common goals
Availability to work regular and irregular hours
Completion of reference and background checks

Available roles/responsibilities include:
Office Administrator/Registrar (Available September 2019)
Create inviting correspondence experiences for camper, parents, staff and guests
Oversee administration and correspondence for summer camps and year round guest groups
*Other responsibilities could be included based on need/interest/experience and availability. These responsibilities could include book-keeping, group hosting, kitchen, janitorial and/or guest service responsibilities.
Facilities and Site Manager (Available Immediately)
Ensure that the site is kept in a safe, attractive and cleanly manner to create high-value, quality experiences for campers, parents and guests
Maintain health and safety standards in accordance with all applicable legislature
Monitor and maintain critical systems (water, waste water, fire, security, roads) in accordance with legislature
Management of janitorial and facilities related resources, staff and volunteer
